Current Copper Prices
With a decline of 4.9 percent on Thursday, April 18, Chinese copper wire recorded the biggest price drift of the day. The price of Chinese copper bar fell 4.8 percent to a thirty-day low yesterday. On Thursday’s price drop of 4.8 percent carried the cash price of Chinese copper to a thirty-day low. Chinese bright copper scrap stayed flat.
The price of US copper producer grade 122 reached a thirty-day low after decreasing 3.0 percent. After falling 3.0 percent, the price of US copper producer grade 110 reached a thirty-day low. US copper producer grade 102 saw its price drop 2.9 percent yesterday. The Japanese copper cash price flattened following two days of declines.
The copper 3-month price fell to a thirty-day low after shifting 2.2 percent. The cash price of primary copper fell 2.1 percent to a thirty-day low on the LME of $7,065 per metric ton on Thursday.
Current Aluminum Prices
The cash price of primary Indian aluminum saw the biggest increase at 1.1 percent for Thursday, April 18.
The cash price of primary aluminum weakened by 0.3 percent on the LME, settling at $1,855 per metric ton. On the LME, the aluminum 3-month price declined 0.3 percent to $1,887 per metric ton.
Chinese aluminum prices were mixed for the day. Chinese aluminum billet finished the day down 0.7 percent. The cash price of Chinese aluminum fell 0.6 percent. Chinese aluminum scrap held its value on Thursday. The price of Chinese aluminum bar saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row.
