Chinese Silver Collapses 4.4%

With a decline of 4.4 percent to CNY 4,580 ($741.75) per kilogram on Thursday, April 18, Chinese silver recorded the biggest price drift of the day. Indian silver prices inched up 1.2 percent to INR 44,941 ($828.93) per kilogram. The price of US silver declined 0.1 percent to $23.31 per ounce. The price of Japanese silver showed little movement on Thursday at JPY 745.00 ($7.60) per 10 grams.

After hitting a thirty-day low of INR 26,273 ($484.60) per 10 grams on Tuesday, April 16, the price of Indian gold bullion rose 2.2 percent yesterday. Chinese gold bullion finished the day down 0.8 percent to CNY 272.60 ($44.15) per gram. US gold bullion saw its price rise 0.6 percent to $1,378 per ounce. The price of Japanese gold bullion held steady at JPY 4,342 ($44.29) per gram.

US platinum bar ended the day at $1,422 per ounce, after the 1.6 percent drop yesterday. At CNY 308.00 ($49.88) per gram, the price of Chinese platinum bar was essentially unchanged. Japanese platinum bar saw little change in its price yesterday at JPY 4,564 ($46.55) per gram.

At $662.00 per ounce, US palladium bar fell 2.1 percent on Thursday. The price of Japanese palladium bar remained essentially flat at JPY 2,300 ($23.46) per gram. The price of Chinese palladium bar remained steady at CNY 156.00 ($25.26) per gram.
