Chinese Silver Sees Large Increase

With a 5.7 percent increase on Friday, April 26, Chinese silver was the biggest mover on the Global Precious Metals MMI®. US silver rose 5.4 percent to $24.40 per ounce. The price of Indian silver climbed 3.5 percent to INR 45,558 ($840.16) per kilogram. After a 1.2 percent increase, Japanese silver finished the day at JPY 758.00 ($7.63) per 10 grams.

US gold bullion finished the day up 2.6 percent to $1,468 per ounce. The price of Indian gold bullion increased 1.5 percent to INR 27,369 ($504.73) per 10 grams. After a 1.4 percent increase, Japanese gold bullion finished the day at JPY 4,673 ($47.04) per gram. Chinese gold bullion saw its price rise 0.6 percent to CNY 300.20 ($48.62) per gram.

US platinum bar finished the day up 2.6 percent to $1,463 per ounce. The price of Chinese platinum bar moved up 2.0 percent, landing at CNY 311.00 ($50.37) per gram. The price of Japanese platinum bar increased 1.6 percent to JPY 4,684 ($47.15) per gram.

US palladium bar prices rose 1.8 percent to $680.00 per ounce. At JPY 2,233 ($22.48) per gram, the price of Japanese palladium bar was essentially unchanged. Following a two-day rise, the price of Chinese palladium bar flattened at CNY 158.00 ($25.59).
