With a 2.9 percent increase on Tuesday, April 30, US palladium bar was the biggest mover on the Global Precious Metals MMI®. Japanese palladium bar held its value on Tuesday at JPY 2,233 ($22.81) per gram. At CNY 158.00 ($25.62) per gram, the price of Chinese palladium bar was essentially unchanged.
US platinum bar gained 2.2 percent to finish at $1,509 per ounce. Japanese platinum bar finished the day up 0.5 percent to JPY 4,706 ($48.08) per gram. Chinese platinum bar saw little change in its price on Tuesday at CNY 311.00 ($50.43) per gram.
After improving for two days, the price of Japanese gold bullion declined 1.9 percent to JPY 4,597 ($46.97) per gram. US gold bullion prices inched up 0.9 percent to $1,477 per ounce. Indian gold bullion closed 0.9 percent lower at INR 27,135 ($500.32) per 10 grams. Chinese gold bullion stayed flat at around CNY 300.20 ($48.67) per gram.
The price of US silver increased 2.3 percent to $24.59 per ounce. Following a couple days of improvement, the price of Indian silver weakened by 0.4 percent. Prices closed at INR 45,483 ($838.62) per kilogram. The price of Japanese silver declined 0.1 percent to JPY 757.00 ($7.73) per 10 grams. The price of Chinese silver remained steady at CNY 4,950 ($802.60) per kilogram.
