Current Aluminum Prices
The cash price of primary aluminum fell 2.3 percent on Tuesday, April 30 on the LME, making it the day’s biggest mover. After improving for two days, the aluminum 3-month price declined 2.1 percent on the LME to $1,881 per metric ton.
The Indian aluminum cash price held steady on Tuesday.
For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese aluminum scrap remained essentially flat. The price of Chinese aluminum billet remained essentially flat as well.
Current Copper Prices
After two changeless days, the Japanese copper cash price closed above $7,400 per metric ton on Tuesday, April 30. The price of US copper producer grade 110 rose 1.0 percent. The price of US copper producer grade 122 gained 1.0 percent. The price of US copper producer grade 102 rose 1.0 percent as well.
Chinese copper prices were flat for the day. Chinese copper bar held its value on Tuesday. The cash price of Chinese copper showed little movement yesterday. The price of Chinese copper wire remained steady. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row.
On the LME, the primary copper cash price inched up 0.3 percent to $7,078 per metric ton. After a 0.2 percent increase, the copper 3-month price finished the day on the LME at $7,117 per metric ton.
