After two changeless days, the Japanese copper cash price closed at JPY 725,000 ($7,407) per metric ton on Tuesday, April 30. The price of US copper producer grade 110 rose 1.0 percent to $3.89 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 122 gained 1.0 percent to finish at $3.89 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 102 rose 1.0 percent to $4.08 per pound.
Chinese copper prices were flat for the day. Chinese copper bar held its value on Tuesday at CNY 53,600 ($8,691) per metric ton. The cash price of Chinese copper showed little movement yesterday, hovering around CNY 53,800 ($8,723) per metric ton. The price of Chinese copper wire remained steady at CNY 52,360 ($8,490) per metric ton. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row, remaining around CNY 42,030 ($6,815) per metric ton.
On the LME, the primary copper cash price inched up 0.3 percent to $7,078 per metric ton. After a 0.2 percent increase, the copper 3-month price finished the day on the LME at $7,117 per metric ton.
