Cash Price of Primary Indian Aluminum Sees Small Decrease

With a decline of 2.2 percent to INR 98.60 ($1.83) per kilogram on Monday, May 6, the Indian aluminum cash price recorded the biggest decline of the day. After a 1.4 percent increase, the cash price of primary aluminum finished the day on the LME at $1,827 per metric ton. On the LME, the aluminum 3-month price rose 1.3 percent to $1,861 per metric ton.

Chinese aluminum closed mixed yesterday. Chinese aluminum billet prices inched up 0.7 percent to CNY 14,400 ($2,340) per metric ton. The Chinese aluminum cash price increased 0.5 percent to CNY 14,480 ($2,353) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap remained essentially flat at CNY 12,525 ($2,035) per metric ton. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese aluminum bar remained essentially flat at CNY 14,050 ($2,283) per metric ton.
