Current Copper Prices
The cash price of Japanese copper saw the biggest increase at 8.8 percent, finishing way up for Wednesday, May 8. The prices of US copper producer grades 102, 110, 122 saw little movement on Wednesday.
Chinese copper prices were mixed for the day. Following two days of rising prices, the price of Chinese copper bar dropped 0.4 percent. After improving for two days, the cash price of Chinese copper declined 0.4 percent. The price of Chinese copper wire weakened by 0.3 percent. Chinese bright copper scrap saw little change in its price yesterday.
On the LME, the copper 3-month price rose 1.7 percent to $7,270 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the cash price of primary copper gained 1.7 percent to finish at $7,240 per metric ton.
Current Aluminum Prices
The Indian aluminum cash price moved up 2.3 percent on Wednesday, May 8, making it the day’s biggest mover.
On the LME, the aluminum 3-month price rose 0.8 percent to $1,876 per metric ton. On the LME, the primary aluminum cash price rose 0.7 percent to $1,841 per metric ton.
Chinese aluminum prices were flat for the day. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap was essentially unchanged. The price of Chinese aluminum billet remained essentially flat. The price of Chinese aluminum bar continues hovering in place for the fifth day in a row. The Chinese aluminum cash price ended a two-day climb.
