At INR 102.15 ($1.89) per kilogram, the Indian aluminum cash price moved up 2.3 percent on Wednesday, May 8, making it the day’s biggest mover. On the LME, the aluminum 3-month price rose 0.8 percent to $1,876 per metric ton. On the LME, the primary aluminum cash price rose 0.7 percent to $1,841 per metric ton.
Chinese aluminum prices were flat for the day. At CNY 12,880 ($2,092) per metric ton, the price of Chinese aluminum scrap was essentially unchanged. The price of Chinese aluminum billet remained essentially flat at CNY 14,400 ($2,339) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar continues hovering around CNY 14,050 ($2,282) per metric ton for the fifth day in a row. The Chinese aluminum cash price ended a two-day climb, settling at CNY 14,510 ($2,357) per metric ton.
