Japanese Silver Up 6.3%

On Tuesday, May 21, the day’s biggest mover was the price of Japanese silver, which saw a 6.3 percent increase to JPY 754.00 ($7.38) per 10 grams. This increase comes after the price fell for the two previous days. Finishing at INR 43,428 ($787.95) per kilogram, Indian silver made a large daily increase of 4.5 percent. Just off of a 30-day low of $22.92 per ounce, the price of US silver rose 3.0 percent yesterday. The price of Chinese silver rose 2.4 percent on Tuesday, just off the 30-day low of CNY 4,505 ($733.60) per kilogram it hit on Friday, May 17.

The price of Japanese gold bullion is back up, rising by 3.6 percent yesterday to close at JPY 4,603 ($45.05) per gram. The price of Chinese gold bullion rose 3.2 percent to CNY 281.78 ($45.89) per gram after a two-day drop. Following a two-day drop, the price of US gold bullion increased by 2.5 percent to $1,394 per ounce. Indian gold bullion saw its price rise 2.1 percent to INR 26,347 ($478.03) per 10 grams.

After falling for two days, the price of US platinum bar rose 2.3 percent to $1,487 per ounce. The price of Japanese platinum bar is back up, rising by 1.9 percent yesterday to close at JPY 4,904 ($48.00) per gram. Chinese platinum bar gained 1.3 percent to finish at CNY 310.00 ($50.48) per gram.

US palladium bar prices inched up 1.5 percent to $747.00 per ounce. Chinese palladium bar prices rose 0.6 percent to CNY 166.00 ($27.03) per gram. The price of Japanese palladium bar remained steady at JPY 2,460 ($24.08) per gram.
