US Silver Drifts 2.1%

On Wednesday, May 22, the day’s biggest mover was US silver, which saw a 2.1 percent decline to $22.43 per ounce. Japanese silver finished the day down 1.9 percent to JPY 740.00 ($7.22) per 10 grams. Chinese silver finished the day up 0.8 percent to CNY 4,540 ($739.70) per kilogram. Indian silver prices inched up 0.4 percent to INR 43,613 ($787.02) per kilogram.

The price of US gold bullion declined 1.3 percent to $1,376 per ounce. At JPY 4,554 ($44.45) per gram, Japanese gold bullion fell 1.1 percent on Wednesday. Indian gold bullion saw its price rise 0.3 percent to INR 26,419 ($476.74) per 10 grams. Chinese gold bullion prices saw a 0.2 percent decline to CNY 281.18 ($45.81) per gram.

US platinum bar ended the day at $1,461 per ounce, after the 1.7 percent drop yesterday. The price of Japanese platinum bar fell 0.9 percent to JPY 4,859 ($47.43) per gram. The price of Chinese platinum bar remained steady at CNY 310.00 ($50.51) per gram.

At CNY 169.00 ($27.53), the price of Chinese palladium bar finished the market day up 1.8 percent per gram. US palladium bar closed 0.3 percent lower at $745.00 per ounce. The price of Japanese palladium bar showed little movement on Wednesday at JPY 2,460 ($24.01) per gram.
