Boeing finished installing its new, re-engineered batteries in the 50 planes it had delivered.
Via Komonews.com: “Boeing Co. never did figure out the root cause of the battery incidents. Instead, it redesigned the battery and its charger. The idea was to eliminate all of the possible causes, 787 chief engineer Mike Sinnett said. The changes include more heat insulation between each cell and charging the battery to a lower maximum voltage.”
Current Metals Prices in Renewable Energy Industry
Following a 0.5 percent decline, Chinese cobalt cathodes finished as the week’s biggest mover on the weekly Renewables MMI®.
Silicon traded sideways last week, and the price of neodymium did not change. MetalMiner’s grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) price of coil dropped 5.0 percent earlier this month.
Chinese, Japanese, Korean and US steel plate prices all remained steady.
The Renewables MMI® collects and weights 8 metal price points used extensively within the renewable energy industry to provide a unique view into renewable energy metal price trends.
