Ahead of one of the most comprehensive conferences on global aluminum price and market trends, current aluminum prices are looking up.
The LME aluminum cash price saw the biggest upwards shift for the day, rising 2.0 percent to close at $1,856 per metric ton on Friday, May 31. On the LME, the 3-month price of aluminum increased 1.7 percent to $1,889 per metric ton.
Chinese aluminum prices were mixed for the day. The price of Chinese aluminum billet increased 0.7 percent. The Chinese aluminum cash price finished the market day up 0.5 percent per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese aluminum bar remained essentially flat.
