Indian Silver Decline After Improvement

The price of Indian silver fell 5.0 percent on Monday, June 3 to INR 43,983 ($777.43) per kilogram, making it the day’s biggest mover. The price of Chinese silver closed at CNY 4,505 ($734.19) per kilogram. Following a couple days of improvement, the metal’s price weakened by 1.6 percent. The price of Japanese silver declined 1.2 percent to JPY 723.00 ($7.19) per 10 grams. The price of US silver remained essentially flat at $22.27 per ounce.

Following a couple days of improvement, the price of Japanese gold bullion weakened by 2.1 percent. Prices closed at JPY 4,505 ($44.81) per gram. Weakening prices followed two days of improvement as the price of Chinese gold bullion dropped 1.5 percent to CNY 278.20 ($45.34) per gram. The price of Indian gold bullion declined 0.8 percent to INR 26,985 ($476.98) per 10 grams, after two days of improvement. The price of US gold bullion showed little movement yesterday at $1,388 per ounce.

Japanese platinum bar ended the day at JPY 4,769 ($47.44) per gram, after the 0.9 percent drop on Monday. The price of Chinese platinum bar held steady at CNY 309.00 ($50.36) per gram. The price of US platinum bar remained steady at $1,454 per ounce.

At JPY 2,432 ($24.19) per gram, the price of Japanese palladium bar was essentially unchanged. US palladium bar held its value on Monday at $749.00 per ounce. After a couple of days of improving prices, the price of Chinese palladium bar held steady at CNY 168.00 ($27.38).
