Japanese Copper Cash Price Sees Small Jump
On Monday, July 1, the cash price of Japanese copper experienced the biggest change, rising 1.3 percent to JPY 693,000 ($6,966) per metric ton. The price of US copper producer grade 110 saw little movement yesterday, closing out around $3.72 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 102 held steady around $3.91 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 122 held steady on Monday, remaining around $3.72 per pound.
Chinese copper prices were mixed for the day. Chinese copper bar prices rose 0.7 percent to CNY 50,300 ($8,190) per metric ton. The Chinese copper cash price rose 0.7 percent to CNY 50,500 ($8,222) per metric ton. The price of Chinese copper wire increased 0.7 percent to CNY 49,370 ($8,038) per metric ton. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap held steady at CNY 40,050 ($6,521) per metric ton.
On the LME, the cash price of primary copper increased 0.7 percent to $6,751 per metric ton. At $6,776, the copper 3-month price finished the market day on the LME up 0.7 percent per metric ton.
