Monthly Copper MMI® Decreases 6.6% to 85

The monthly Copper MMI® registered a value of 85 in July, a decrease of 6.6 percent from 91 in June.

Chinese bright copper scrap prices fell 11.0 percent to $6,521 per metric ton after rising the previous month. After rising the previous month, Chinese copper wire prices dropped 8.1 percent to $8,038 per metric ton. Chinese primary cash copper prices fell 7.9 percent to $8,222 per metric ton after rising the previous month. After rising the previous month, Japanese primary cash copper prices dropped 7.5 percent to $6,966 per metric ton. Copper 3-month prices fell 7.0 percent on the LME to $6,776 per metric ton after rising the previous month. After rising the previous month, primary cash copper prices dropped 6.8 percent on the LME to $6,751 per metric ton. The price of US copper producer grade 110 fell 5.8 percent to $3.72 per pound. Following a 5.6 percent decline, the price of US copper producer grade 102 reached $3.91 per pound.

Korean copper strip traded sideways last month, staying around $9.90 per kilogram.
