Monthly Renewables MMI® Decreases 3.0% to 64

The monthly Renewables MMI® registered a value of 64 in July, a decrease of 3.0 percent from 66 in June.

The price of Chinese cobalt cathodes climbed 5.0 percent to $34,192 per metric ton.

The price of neodymium closed the month at $54,544 per metric ton after dropping 21.2 percent. Chinese steel plate prices fell 5.2 percent to $648.01 per metric ton after rising the previous month.

At a price of $2,117 per metric ton, silicon did not budge the entire month. Prices for US grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) remained constant this past month, holding at around $3,339 per short ton. US steel plate traded sideways last month, staying around $720.00 per short ton. Prices for Korean steel plate remained constant this past month, holding at around $963.36 per metric ton. Last month was consistent for Japanese steel plate, which did not move from $723.77 per metric ton.
