The Indian aluminum cash price saw the biggest increase at 2.2 percent, finishing at INR 108.95 ($1.81) per kilogram for Thursday, July 4. Following two days of rising prices, the aluminum 3-month price dropped 1.1 percent on the LME to $1,817 per metric ton. Weakening prices followed two days of improvement as the cash price of primary aluminum dropped 1.0 percent on the LME to $1,774 per metric ton.
Chinese aluminum closed mixed yesterday. Chinese aluminum scrap ended the day at CNY 12,795 ($2,088) per metric ton, after the 0.4 percent drop yesterday. The cash price of Chinese aluminum saw a 0.2 percent decline to CNY 14,420 ($2,353) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum billet showed little movement yesterday at CNY 14,450 ($2,358) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar held steady at CNY 14,050 ($2,293) per metric ton.
