Indian Silver Climbs 3.6%

With a 3.6 percent increase on Thursday, July 4, Indian silver was the biggest mover on the Global Precious Metals MMI®. US silver gained 1.8 percent to finish at $19.72 per ounce. After a 0.4 percent increase, Chinese silver finished the day at CNY 3,950 ($644.65) per kilogram. The price of Japanese silver steadied at JPY 628.00 ($6.29) per 10 grams following two-days of increases.

US gold bullion prices rose 0.8 percent to $1,253 per ounce. Indian gold bullion prices inched up 0.7 percent to INR 26,385 ($438.10) per 10 grams. At CNY 255.09 ($41.63), the price of Chinese gold bullion finished the market day up 0.5 percent per gram. Japanese gold bullion saw little change in its price on Wednesday at JPY 4,031 ($40.39) per gram.

At $1,342 per ounce, US platinum bar fell 1.8 percent yesterday. The price of Chinese platinum bar fell 0.5 percent to CNY 286.00 ($46.68) per gram. At JPY 4,441 ($44.50) per gram, the price of Japanese platinum bar was essentially unchanged.

The price of US palladium bar closed at $683.00 per ounce. Following a couple days of improvement, prices fell by 0.3 percent. Following a two-day rise, the price of Japanese palladium bar flattened at JPY 2,214 ($22.19). The price of Chinese palladium bar showed little movement yesterday at CNY 152.00 ($24.81) per gram.
