Today’s Aluminum Prices
On Wednesday, July 10, the day’s biggest mover was the Indian aluminum cash price, which saw a 1.3 percent increase.
The cash price of primary aluminum is back up, rising by 0.2 percent on the LME yesterday to close at $1,740 per metric ton. Following a 0.2 percent rise on Wednesday, the 3-month price of aluminum closed on the LME at $1,786 per metric ton.
Chinese aluminum prices were mixed for the day. Following a quiet couple of days, the price of Chinese aluminum billet fell 0.3 percent on Wednesday. Chinese aluminum primary saw its price drop 0.2 percent to a 30-day low on Wednesday. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap showed little movement. The price of Chinese aluminum bar saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row.
Today’s Copper Prices
Chinese copper wire saw the biggest price decline of the day, dropping 1.2 percent on Wednesday, July 10. Chinese copper bar closed 1.0 percent lower. The Chinese copper cash price weakened by 1.0 percent. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap held steady.
The price of US copper producer grade 122 fell 1.1 percent. The price of US copper producer grade 110 saw a 1.1 percent decline. The price of US copper producer grade 102 declined 1.0 percent. Following a 0.1 percent rise on Wednesday, the cash price of primary Japanese copper closed higher.
On the LME, the 3-month price of copper fell 0.7 percent to $6,728 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the primary copper cash price declined 0.7 percent to $6,719 per metric ton.
