Aluminum Billet, Scrap Prices in China Rise, LME Up Too

The cash price of primary Indian aluminum saw the biggest increase at 1.4 percent for Thursday, July 11. On the LME, the cash price of primary aluminum rose 1.2 percent to $1,761 per metric ton. On the LME, the 3-month price of aluminum gained 1.0 percent to finish at $1,805 per metric ton.

Chinese aluminum prices were mixed for the day. After a 0.7 percent increase, Chinese aluminum billet finished the day higher. Just off of a 30-day low, the Chinese aluminum cash price rose 0.6 percent on Thursday. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap increased 0.3 percent. For the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese aluminum bar held flat.
