The cash price of primary Indian aluminum saw the biggest increase at 1.4 percent, finishing at INR 107.35 ($1.79) per kilogram for Thursday, July 11. On the LME, the cash price of primary aluminum rose 1.2 percent to $1,761 per metric ton. On the LME, the 3-month price of aluminum gained 1.0 percent to finish at $1,805 per metric ton.
Chinese aluminum prices were mixed for the day. After a 0.7 percent increase, Chinese aluminum billet finished the day at CNY 14,400 ($2,347) per metric ton. Just off of a 30-day low of CNY 14,430 ($2,352) per metric ton, the Chinese aluminum cash price rose 0.6 percent on Thursday. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap increased 0.3 percent to CNY 12,770 ($2,082) per metric ton. For the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese aluminum bar held flat at CNY 14,050 ($2,290) per metric ton.
