US Bar Fuel Surcharges Rise, Shredded Scrap Price Up Too

Rising 2.5 percent, the weekly US Midwest bar fuel surcharge saw the largest increase on the weekly Construction MMI® this week.

Last week, the weekly US Gulf Coast bar fuel surcharge increased by a slight 1.4 percent. The weekly US Rocky Mountain bar fuel surcharge rose 0.4 percent over the past week.

Chinese H-beam steel saw its price rise 1.5 percent over the past week. In the past week, US shredded scrap saw its price shift up 1.4 percent. The price of Chinese rebar finished the week 1.2 percent higher. The Chinese low price of 62% Australian iron ore fines remained unchanged for the week.

The price of Chinese aluminum bar did not change since the previous week. European 1050 aluminum remained essentially flat as well.
