US Silver Sees Large Increase

With a 5.2 percent increase on Tuesday, July 23, US silver was the biggest mover on the Global Precious Metals MMI®. Chinese silver prices rose 2.4 percent to CNY 4,070 ($662.51) per kilogram. Indian silver saw its price rise 1.6 percent to INR 41,575 ($696.10) per kilogram. The price of Japanese silver held steady at JPY 636.00 ($6.40) per 10 grams.

US gold bullion gained 3.0 percent to finish at $1,335 per ounce. Indian gold bullion prices inched up 1.6 percent to INR 27,646 ($462.89) per 10 grams. At CNY 267.70 ($43.58), the price of Chinese gold bullion finished the market day up 1.5 percent per gram. After a couple of days of improving prices, the price of Japanese gold bullion held steady at JPY 4,252 ($42.81).

The price of US platinum bar increased 1.1 percent to $1,442 per ounce. After a 1.0 percent increase, Chinese platinum bar finished the day at CNY 303.00 ($49.32) per gram. The price of Japanese platinum bar ended a two-day climb, settling at JPY 4,654 ($46.86) per gram.

The price of Chinese palladium bar declined 0.6 percent to CNY 166.00 ($27.02) per gram. After improving for two days, the price of US palladium bar declined 0.3 percent to $744.00 per ounce. Following a two-day rise, the price of Japanese palladium bar flattened at JPY 2,409 ($24.25).
