The day’s biggest mover was the price of US copper producer grade 110 which dropped by 1.9 percent on Wednesday, July 31. Grades 102 and 122 also saw similar declines. The Japanese copper cash price rose 0.4 percent after a two-day drop.
Chinese copper prices were mixed for the day. Chinese copper wire fell 0.3 percent yesterday. The price of Chinese copper bar fell 0.3 percent. The Chinese copper cash price fell 0.3 percent. Chinese bright copper scrap saw little change in its price yesterday.
The copper 3-month price weakened by 1.6 percent on the LME, settling at $6,770 per metric ton. The primary copper cash price saw a 1.6 percent decline on the LME to $6,751 per metric ton.
