With a 1.5 percent increase over the past day, the 3-month price of nickel was the biggest mover on the LME, closing at $13,850 per metric ton on Friday, August 2. At $13,750, the nickel spot price finished the market day on the LME up 1.4 percent per metric ton.
The Indian nickel cash price rose 0.5 percent.
Chinese stainless steel closed mixed last Friday. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese ferro-chrome remained essentially flat. The price of Chinese ferro-moly remained essentially flat.
The price of Chinese primary nickel declined 0.4 percent. The prices of Chinese stainless remained unchanged.
