Precious Metal Roundup: Silver Prices Up Across Global Markets, Gold Mixed

On Wednesday, August 14, Japanese silver jumped up 3.6 percent, making it the day’s biggest increase. Indian silver prices saw a 0.3 percent decline. Chinese silver saw its price rise 0.2 percent. US silver finished the day up 0.1 percent.

After a 1.3 percent increase, Japanese gold bullion finished the day higher. The price of US gold bullion changed direction with a 1.2 percent drop. The price of Chinese gold bullion declined 0.8 percent, after two days of improvement. Following a two-day rise, the price of Indian gold bullion flattened.

The price of Chinese platinum bar weakened by 1.0 percent. Japanese platinum bar prices rose 0.6 percent. The price of US platinum bar finished the market day up 0.2 percent per ounce.

The price of Japanese palladium bar declined 1.8 percent. The price of US palladium bar remained steady. The price of Chinese palladium bar was essentially unchanged.
