The Indian nickel cash price saw the biggest increase at 2.6 percent for Thursday, August 22.
On the LME, however, the nickel spot price fell 0.8 percent to $14,445 per metric ton. The 3-month price of nickel saw a 0.7 percent decline on the LME to $14,550 per metric ton.
Chinese stainless steel prices were mixed for the day. The price of Chinese ferro-chrome continues hovering in place for the fifth day in a row. The price of Chinese ferro-moly was unchanged. The price of Chinese primary nickel fell 0.5 percent.
For the fifth consecutive day, the prices of Chinese 304 and 316 stainless coil and scrap held flat.
