3-Month Price of Aluminum Sees Small Decrease

The 3-month price of aluminum saw the biggest decline of the day, dropping 0.7 percent on the LME to close at $1,792 per metric ton on Friday, September 13. The cash price of primary aluminum weakened by 0.6 percent on the LME, settling at $1,745 per metric ton. Following a 0.2 percent rise last Friday, the cash price of primary Indian aluminum closed at INR 111.40 ($1.75) per kilogram.

 

Chinese aluminum prices were mixed for the day. The price of Chinese aluminum billet increased 0.3 percent to CNY 14,350 ($2,346) per metric ton. The cash price of Chinese aluminum gained 0.2 percent, closing at CNY 14,370 ($2,349) per metric ton. Chinese aluminum scrap held its value last Friday at CNY 12,695 ($2,075) per metric ton. For the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese aluminum bar held flat at CNY 14,200 ($2,321) per metric ton.
