US Silver Collapses 6.4%

US silver had the largest decline on Friday, September 13, dropping 6.4 percent and landing at $21.74 per ounce. Japanese silver prices fell 4.5 percent, landing at JPY 706.00 ($7.09) per 10 grams last Friday. Chinese silver fell 4.4 percent to CNY 4,420 ($722.59) per kilogram. A $2,040 price decline in the Indian silver left the price at INR 48,601 ($763.95) per kilogram.

US gold bullion prices were off by 3.3 percent last Friday, falling from $1,321 last Friday to $1,321 per ounce. The price of Japanese gold bullion declined 2.6 percent to JPY 4,228 ($42.46) per gram. Chinese gold bullion prices weakened by 2.0 percent, settling at CNY 264.49 ($43.24) per gram. This marked the fifth day in a row of declining prices and the drop-off has accelerated since Monday, September 9. Indian gold bullion closed 1.8 percent lower at INR 29,624 ($465.65) per 10 grams.

US platinum bar finished the day down 2.3 percent to $1,435 per ounce. Japanese platinum bar prices saw a 1.4 percent decline to JPY 4,650 ($46.70) per gram. Chinese platinum bar ended the day at CNY 306.00 ($50.03) per gram, after the 1.0 percent drop last Friday.

The price of Japanese palladium bar fell 0.9 percent to JPY 2,220 ($22.29) per gram. At $688.00 per ounce, US palladium bar fell 0.4 percent last Friday. The price of Chinese palladium bar held steady at CNY 153.00 ($25.01) per gram.
