Chinese Bright Copper Scrap Closes 30-Day High

Decreasing 18.9 percent made Chinese bright copper scrap the biggest mover of the day, finishing at CNY 42,830 ($6,997) per metric ton on Wednesday, September 18. At CNY 51,925 ($8,482) per metric ton, Chinese copper wire fell 0.2 percent yesterday. Chinese copper bar stayed flat at around CNY 52,850 ($8,633) per metric ton. The Chinese copper cash price held steady around CNY 53,050 ($8,666) per metric ton.

 

The cash price of primary Japanese copper fell 0.1 percent to JPY 732,000 ($7,384) per metric ton. The price of US copper producer grade 122 held steady yesterday, remaining around $3.89 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 102 remained essentially flat at $4.08 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 110 held steady around $3.89 per pound.

On the LME, the cash price of primary copper saw little movement on Wednesday at $7,056 per metric ton. The copper 3-month price saw little movement on Wednesday on the LME, closing out around $7,085 per metric ton.
