Cash Price of Primary Indian Aluminum Improves Slightly

The cash price of primary Indian aluminum saw a 0.9 percent increase on Friday, September 27, reaching INR 110.60 ($1.79) per kilogram and making it the biggest mover for the day. The 3-month price of aluminum is back up, rising by 0.7 percent on the LME last Friday to close at $1,808 per metric ton. On the LME, the primary aluminum cash price increased 0.6 percent to $1,761 per metric ton.

Chinese aluminum closed mixed last Friday. The cash price of Chinese aluminum rose 0.7 percent to CNY 14,630 ($2,390) per metric ton. Chinese aluminum scrap stayed flat at around CNY 12,745 ($2,082) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum billet flattened at CNY 14,500 ($2,368) after two days of improvement. The price of Chinese aluminum bar continues hovering around CNY 14,200 ($2,319) per metric ton for the fifth day in a row.
