Another public punch to the gut for Boeing…
“Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA grounded a brand new, $212 million 787 Dreamliner over the weekend. The airline demanded Boeing fix the state-of-the-art jet, saying it needs repairs after less than 30 days in service,” reports Reuters.
“But Norwegian Air’s vocal airing of its complaints is another black eye for the troubled Dreamliner. It follows a string of electrical and other safety problems that included battery meltdowns so severe they prompted regulators to ban the long-haul jetliner from flight for more than three months this year.”
The cash price of primary Indian aluminum saw a 0.9 percent increase on Friday, September 27, making it the biggest mover for the day. The 3-month price of aluminum is back up, rising by 0.7 percent on the LME last Friday to close at $1,808 per metric ton. On the LME, the primary aluminum cash price increased 0.6 percent to $1,761 per metric ton.
Chinese aluminum closed mixed last Friday. The cash price of Chinese aluminum rose 0.7 percent. Chinese aluminum scrap stayed flat. The price of Chinese aluminum billet flattened after two days of improvement. The price of Chinese aluminum bar continues to hover for the fifth day in a row.
