The Japanese copper cash price saw the biggest increase at 1.5 percent, finishing at JPY 748,000 ($7,646) per metric ton for Monday, September 30. The price of US copper producer grade 110 rose 0.5 percent to $3.99 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 122 gained 0.5 percent to finish at $3.99 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 102 rose 0.5 percent to $4.18 per pound.
Chinese copper prices closed flat for the day. The price of Chinese copper bar remained steady at CNY 53,600 ($8,741) per metric ton. The Chinese copper cash price held steady around CNY 53,800 ($8,774) per metric ton. Chinese copper wire stayed flat at around CNY 52,650 ($8,586) per metric ton. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap held steady at CNY 42,830 ($6,985) per metric ton.
At $7,252, the cash price of primary copper finished the market day on the LME up 0.4 percent per metric ton. Also on the LME, the 3-month price of copper rose 0.4 percent to $7,275 per metric ton.
