Kobe Steel Ltd. will be setting up a company in China to produce aluminum panels for automotive body applications, reports Industry Week. “It will be the first Japanese operation to produce such products in China, and aims for a capacity of 100,000 metric tons annually, starting production in 2016.”
The Indian aluminum cash price saw a 2.3 percent increase on Monday, September 30, making it the biggest mover for the day. On the LME, the primary aluminum cash price rose 1.6 percent to $1,789 per metric ton. On the LME, the aluminum 3-month price increased 1.4 percent to $1,834 per metric ton.
Chinese aluminum prices were mixed for the day. Following a couple of essentially changeless days, the price of Chinese aluminum scrap rose by 0.5 percent. Following a two-day rise, the cash price of Chinese aluminum flattened. The price of Chinese aluminum billet was essentially unchanged. The price of Chinese aluminum bar held steady.
