Closing at $738.00 per ounce on the Friday, October 18, US palladium bar rose 3.2 percent to finish as the day’s biggest mover. Chinese palladium bar gained 2.5 percent to finish at CNY 163.00 ($26.72) per gram. The price of Japanese palladium bar showed little movement last Friday at JPY 2,200 ($22.45) per gram.
US platinum bar prices inched up 2.8 percent to $1,433 per ounce. Chinese platinum bar finished the day up 1.7 percent to CNY 301.00 ($49.35) per gram. The price of Japanese platinum bar remained essentially flat at JPY 4,448 ($45.39) per gram.
The price of US gold bullion increased 2.9 percent to $1,320 per ounce. Chinese gold bullion prices rose 2.3 percent to CNY 260.08 ($42.64) per gram. Indian gold bullion saw its price rise 2.0 percent to INR 29,203 ($477.83) per 10 grams. The price of Japanese gold bullion remained steady at JPY 4,051 ($41.33) per gram.
At INR 48,993 ($801.65), the price of Indian silver finished the market day up 2.9 percent per kilogram. US silver rose 2.2 percent to $21.89 per ounce. This marked the fifth day in a row of increasing prices and the improvement has accelerated since Monday, October 14. Prices for Chinese silver have gained increasing momentum since Monday, October 14. After climbing 1.4 percent, the metal closed at CNY 4,370 ($716.42) per kilogram. Japanese silver saw little change in its price last Friday at JPY 670.00 ($6.84) per 10 grams.
