Coca-Cola Opens Factory In China; Indian Aluminum Cash Price Lower

Look out PepsiCo Inc., Coca-Cola just opened a new bottling factory in China–“yet another step in its $4 billion, three-year investment plan in the country,” reports International Business Times.

“The new plant is also Coke’s first in the key Hebei province, whose 72 million residents Coke described as one of China’s ‘most important growth markets.’ Hebei, China’s sixth-largest province by population, has consumed 2.4 billion servings of Coke drinks, which include Fanta, Sprite, Power and Minute Maid, each year since 2008.”

The Indian aluminum cash price saw the biggest decline of the day, dropping 1.3 percent to close on Thursday, October 24. The aluminum 3-month price saw a 0.5 percent decline on the LME to $1,869 per metric ton. On the LME, the primary aluminum cash price declined 0.4 percent to $1,821 per metric ton.

Chinese aluminum closed mixed on Thursday. The cash price of Chinese aluminum finished the market day up 0.1 percent per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap was essentially unchanged. The price of Chinese aluminum billet held steady. The price of Chinese aluminum bar was unchanged.
