Cash Price of Japanese Copper Drifts Downwards

The Japanese copper cash price saw the biggest decline of the day, dropping 2.7 percent to close at JPY 730,000 ($7,496) per metric ton on Friday, October 25. The price of US copper producer grade 110 saw little movement last Friday at $3.96 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 102 saw little price change last Friday at $4.15 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 122 held steady around $3.96 per pound.

Chinese copper closed mixed last Friday. Chinese copper wire prices saw a 0.2 percent decline to CNY 51,850 ($8,526) per metric ton. Chinese copper bar closed 0.2 percent lower at CNY 52,720 ($8,669) per metric ton. The cash price of Chinese copper saw a 0.2 percent decline to CNY 52,920 ($8,702) per metric ton. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap held steady at CNY 43,490 ($7,151) per metric ton.

On the LME, the copper 3-month price fell 0.6 percent to $7,171 per metric ton. The cash price of primary copper weakened by 0.6 percent on the LME, settling at $7,160 per metric ton.
