On Thursday, October 31, Chinese aluminum billet jumped up 0.7 percent, making it the day’s biggest increase. The Chinese aluminum cash price saw a 0.1 percent decline. The price of Chinese aluminum bar saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row. For the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese aluminum scrap held flat.
The cash price of primary Indian aluminum declined 0.6 percent. The primary aluminum cash price declined 0.3 percent on the LME to $1,843 per metric ton, after two days of improvement. The aluminum 3-month price changed direction with a 0.3 percent drop. After two days of improving prices, the metal finished at $1,891 per metric ton on the LME.
