On Thursday, October 31, Chinese aluminum billet jumped up 0.7 percent, landing at CNY 14,450 ($2,371) per metric ton and making it the day’s biggest increase. The Chinese aluminum cash price saw a 0.1 percent decline to CNY 14,500 ($2,380) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row, remaining around CNY 14,200 ($2,330) per metric ton. For the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese aluminum scrap held flat at CNY 12,810 ($2,102) per metric ton.
The cash price of primary Indian aluminum declined 0.6 percent to INR 115.80 ($1.89) per kilogram. The primary aluminum cash price declined 0.3 percent on the LME to $1,843 per metric ton, after two days of improvement. The aluminum 3-month price changed direction with a 0.3 percent drop. After two days of improving prices, the metal finished at $1,891 per metric ton on the LME.
