Spot Price of Nickel Sees Small Jump

On Monday, November 4, the nickel spot price experienced the biggest change, rising 0.4 percent on the LME to $14,575 per metric ton. On the LME, the nickel 3-month price rose 0.3 percent to $14,620 per metric ton. The cash price of primary Indian nickel showed little movement on Monday at INR 915.30 ($14.71) per kilogram.

Chinese stainless steel closed mixed on Monday. The price of Chinese ferro-chrome remained essentially flat at CNY 8,300 ($1,362) per metric ton. The price of Chinese ferro-moly held steady at CNY 145,000 ($23,786) per metric ton.

The price of Chinese primary nickel saw a 0.4 percent decline to CNY 99,700 ($16,355) per metric ton. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese 316 stainless coil remained essentially flat at CNY 26,000 ($4,265) per metric ton. The price of Chinese 304 stainless coil was unchanged at CNY 16,400 ($2,690) per metric ton. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese 316 stainless steel scrap remained essentially flat at CNY 16,100 ($2,641) per metric ton. The price of Chinese 304 stainless steel scrap continues hovering around CNY 16,400 ($2,690) per metric ton for the fifth day in a row.
