New Canadian Network To Encourage Rare Earth Mining

It looks as though Canadian rare earth explorers will be getting a boost. The Canadian government has decided to provide some assistance to the companies with the formation of a new association called the Canadian Rare Earth Elements Network (CREEN).

According to a press release from Avalon Rare Metals Inc., “CREEN is an industry-led, multi-stakeholder network focused on supporting research and development leading to collaborative solutions that will advance Canada’s REE sector to produce and secure 20 percent of the global demand for separated critical rare earth products by 2018. This industry-driven network is supported by universities, engineering firms, national and commercial laboratories.”

Cerium oxide remained unaffected this week. Prices for all other metals Rare Earths MMI® also kept constant. Dysprosium oxide traded sideways last week. Prices for europium oxide remained constant, closing the week.

Lanthanum oxide prices held steady from the previous week. Neodymium remained unchanged for the week. Prices for neodymium remained constant. The week finished with no movement for neodymium oxide.

Praseodymium oxide traded sideways last week. Rare earth carbonate remained essentially flat from the previous week. The price of samarium oxide did not change since the previous week. Following a steady week, prices for terbium metal closed flat.
