Japanese Silver Decline After Improvement

Following two days of increases, the price of Japanese silver dropped by 2.9 percent to end at JPY 631.00 ($6.16) per 10 grams on Wednesday, December 4. The price of Chinese silver fell 1.1 percent to CNY 4,005 ($657.43) per kilogram. At INR 45,124 ($723.47) per kilogram, Indian silver fell 0.2 percent on Wednesday. US silver prices saw a 0.2 percent decline to $19.18 per ounce.

Indian gold bullion closed 1.7 percent lower at INR 28,301 ($453.75) per 10 grams. The price of Japanese gold bullion changed direction with a 1.2 percent drop. After two days of improving prices, the metal finished at JPY 4,057 ($39.63) per gram. US gold bullion gained 0.4 percent to finish at $1,224 per ounce. Chinese gold bullion saw its price drop 0.1 percent to a 30-day low of CNY 241.25 ($39.60) per gram yesterday.

After improving for two days, the price of Japanese platinum bar declined 0.7 percent to JPY 4,492 ($43.88) per gram. The price of Chinese platinum bar remained essentially flat at CNY 285.00 ($46.78) per gram. At $1,340 per ounce, the price of US platinum bar was essentially unchanged.

After a 0.6 percent increase, Japanese palladium bar finished the day at JPY 2,392 ($23.37) per gram. The price of US palladium bar increased 0.6 percent to $714.00 per ounce. The price of Chinese palladium bar steadied at CNY 158.00 ($25.94) per gram following two-days of dropping prices.
