Cash Price of Primary Indian Nickel Improves 1.3%

On Thursday, December 19, the day’s biggest mover was the Indian nickel cash price, which saw a 1.3 percent increase to INR 889.50 ($14.33) per kilogram. On the LME, the nickel 3-month price increased 1.0 percent to $14,100 per metric ton. On the LME, the nickel spot price inched up 0.9 percent to $14,030 per metric ton.

Chinese stainless steel prices were flat for the day. The price of Chinese ferro-chrome remained essentially flat at CNY 8,300 ($1,367) per metric ton. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese ferro-moly remained essentially flat at CNY 145,000 ($23,888) per metric ton.

For the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese primary nickel held flat at CNY 95,700 ($15,766) per metric ton. The price of Chinese 316 stainless coil saw little movement at CNY 26,000 ($4,283) per metric ton. The price of Chinese 304 stainless coil held steady at CNY 16,400 ($2,702) per metric ton. The price of Chinese 316 stainless steel scrap was unchanged at CNY 16,100 ($2,652) per metric ton. The price of Chinese 304 stainless steel scrap continues hovering around CNY 16,400 ($2,702) per metric ton for the fifth day in a row.
