US Palladium Bar Gaining Again

On Friday, January 3, the day’s biggest mover was the price of US palladium bar, which saw a 3.1 percent increase to $728.00 per ounce. This increase comes after two straight days of stagnant prices. The price of Chinese palladium bar increased 1.9 percent to CNY 161.00 ($26.61) per gram. The price of Japanese palladium bar held steady at JPY 2,342 ($22.34) per gram.

Chinese platinum bar gained 2.1 percent to finish at CNY 294.00 ($48.59) per gram. For the fifth day in a row, the price of US platinum bar remained essentially flat at $1,357 per ounce. Japanese platinum bar held its value last Friday at JPY 4,594 ($43.82) per gram.

Following a couple of essentially changeless days, the price of US gold bullion rose by 2.2 percent, closing at $1,223 per ounce. After a 1.3 percent increase, Indian gold bullion finished the day at INR 27,990 ($449.27) per 10 grams. Chinese gold bullion finished the day up 0.9 percent to CNY 242.68 ($40.11) per gram. The price of Japanese gold bullion remained essentially flat at JPY 4,095 ($39.06) per gram.

The price of US silver rose by 2.3 percent to $20.01 per ounce. At INR 46,287 ($742.96) per kilogram, Indian silver fell 1.1 percent last Friday. Chinese silver saw its price rise 0.6 percent to CNY 4,095 ($676.74) per kilogram. At JPY 668.00 ($6.37) per 10 grams, the price of Japanese silver was essentially unchanged.
