On Tuesday, January 14, the Indian nickel cash price fell by 3.0 percent, landing at INR 860.00 ($13.99) per kilogram and making it the day’s biggest mover. On the LME, the nickel 3-month price inched up 2.4 percent to $14,040 per metric ton. On the LME, the nickel spot price increased 2.2 percent to $13,975 per metric ton.

Chinese stainless steel prices closed flat for the day. The price of Chinese ferro-chrome saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row, remaining around CNY 8,300 ($1,373) per metric ton. For the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese ferro-moly held flat at CNY 145,000 ($23,993) per metric ton.

The price of Chinese 316 stainless coil was unchanged at CNY 26,000 ($4,302) per metric ton. The price of Chinese 304 stainless coil held steady at CNY 16,400 ($2,714) per metric ton. The price of Chinese 316 stainless steel scrap continues hovering around CNY 16,100 ($2,664) per metric ton for the fifth day in a row. The price of Chinese 304 stainless steel scrap remained essentially flat at CNY 16,400 ($2,714) per metric ton. The price of Chinese primary nickel held steady around CNY 93,700 ($15,505) per metric ton.
