LME 3-Month Price of Aluminum Up After Two-Day Decline

Following a two-day decline on the LME, the 3-month price of aluminum climbed up 2.0 percent to end at $1,770 per metric ton on Thursday, February 20. The cash price of primary aluminum rose 1.9 percent on the LME to $1,726 per metric ton after a two-day drop. The Indian aluminum cash price gained 1.1 percent.

Chinese aluminum closed mixed on Thursday. Thursday saw the Chinese aluminum cash price drift down 0.5 percent after three quiet days. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese aluminum scrap remained essentially flat. The price of Chinese aluminum billet held steady. For the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese aluminum bar held flat.
