Metals Price Trends, September 2014

Trends_Chart_September_2014We’ll give you a peek at our analysis on 10 metals markets and their overall price movements. As Executive Editor Lisa Reisman outlined in MetalMiner’s latest Monthly MMI® Report (download it FREE below) for September:

Biggest Winner Award goes to:

  • The Construction MMI® – perhaps no surprise there, US construction spending is on an upswing…but what to make of the China slowdown?

Biggest Loser Award:

  • The GOES MMI®, which tanked 6.7% to a reading of 195 from 209 last month. The ITC also ruled against domestic GOES producers AK Steel and Allegheny Technologies this month, by allowing German, Japanese and Polish GOES imports to continue unabated after determining that they don’t pose material injury to the US GOES industry. Check out our latest, full GOES analysis in this report! For comprehensive, historical analysis, don’t miss our industry-leading GOES report.

Best Performing Index Award:

  • The Stainless MMI®, which remains a shade above the January 2012 baseline of 100, at 101. What’s the latest read on key stainless input, nickel?
