ArcelorMittal has constructed a 22-bed Ebola Holding Center to attend to suspected cases of the disease in Ganta, Nimba County, northeastern Liberia.
ArcelorMittal operates an iron ore mine there and constructed the $45,000 facility upon request of Liberian citizens this year’s surge in Ebola cases.
Nimba County, one of the country’s major economic hubs, has recorded the third-largest death toll after Montserrado and Lofa Counties since the outbreak of the disease in March 2014.

Chinese steel prices were flat for the day. The price of iron ore 58% fines from India hit a high price of CNY 840.00 ($136.77) and a low price of CNY 830.00 ($135.14) per dry metric ton. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese HRC remained essentially flat at CNY 3,030 ($493.34) per metric ton. The price of Chinese coking coal saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row, remaining around CNY 1,390 ($226.32) per metric ton.
Also on the LME, the steel billet cash price saw little movement last Friday at $465.00 per metric ton. The steel billet 3-month price saw little movement on the LME at $455.00 per metric ton.
