3-Month Price Of Aluminum Lower

With a decline of 1.1 percent on the LME to $2,015 per metric ton on May 24, 2012, the aluminum 3-month price recorded the biggest shift of the day. The primary aluminum cash price weakened by 1.1 percent on the LME, settling at $1,974 per metric ton. The cash price of primary Indian aluminum increased 0.3 percent to INR 110.80 ($1.98) per kilogram.

Chinese aluminum closed mixed yesterday. The cash price of Chinese aluminum closed Thursday at CNY 16,000 ($2,527) per metric ton, halting its two-day flat run with a 0.4 percent decline. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap saw little movement at CNY 16,650 ($2,630) per metric ton. Chinese aluminum billet saw little change in its price on Thursday at CNY 16,000 ($2,527) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar continues hovering around CNY 14,050 ($2,219) per metric ton for the fifth day in a row.
